Accurate minutes require more than a record of what was said. They need to capture the substance of the discussion, the decisions reached and the actions agreed, with the detail and context appropriate to the meeting.

Corporate Assist provides independent, unbiased minute-taking support for businesses, charities, and regulated organisations across the UK. We support both one-off meetings and ongoing Board and committee schedules, attending remotely or in person.

Our minutes are tailored to your organisation’s terminology, preferred format and level of detail, providing a clear, reliable record while allowing participants to concentrate on the discussion.

Independent and unbiased support

Our role is to record the meeting accurately, not to influence its outcome. We capture the discussion without taking sides or introducing our own opinions, preserving relevant questions, challenge and differing views alongside the decisions reached.

This approach is particularly important in sensitive or contested discussions, including HR hearings, disciplinary meetings and grievances. We distinguish between what participants report, what is proposed and what is agreed, without presenting allegations or opinions as established facts.

The result is a balanced record that reflects the meeting and gives appropriate weight to the contributions made.

What we do

We provide minute-taking support for meetings held in person or remotely, with the format and level of detail tailored to your organisation and the purpose of the meeting.

Minutes capture the substance of the discussion, relevant questions and challenges, decisions reached and agreed actions. Where responsibilities, deadlines, or conditions are specified, we record them clearly. We retain the context needed to understand an outcome without adding assumptions or unnecessary repetition.

Our work ranges from concise Board and committee minutes to more detailed records of formal or sensitive meetings. We follow your preferred structure and terminology, with careful attention to accuracy, consistency and confidentiality.

When needed, we can also prepare or maintain an action log to help your team track the actions agreed at the meeting.

Our quality assurance approach

Before draft minutes are sent to you, we check names, figures, decisions and agreed actions against the meeting record and relevant supporting documents. This includes the agenda, meeting papers and any accounting reports provided for the discussion.

Where financial information is discussed, we cross-check figures and terminology against the relevant reports to ensure that the minutes accurately reflect the information considered.

Supporting papers help us verify and clarify what was discussed. They are not used to introduce matters that were not raised at the meeting. This careful review helps produce an accurate, consistent record that remains faithful to the discussion.

Who we support

We provide professional minute-taking for businesses, charities, regulated organisations and public sector bodies. Our experience includes financial services, insurance, social housing and membership organisations, where an understanding of sector terminology and governance arrangements is particularly valuable.

We work alongside Chairs, trustees, company secretaries, governance professionals and internal teams that need a reliable external minute taker, whether for an ongoing programme of meetings or a specific requirement.

Support is available to organisations with established governance teams as well as those without a dedicated minute-taking resource.

Board and trustee meetings
Committee meetings, including audit, risk, finance and governance

Additional support when you need it

Professional minute-taking is a core Corporate Assist service, available for individual meetings or an ongoing working relationship.

Where you need additional support, we can also assist with Board and committee administration, governance documentation and specific projects. An established understanding of your organisation can provide useful continuity when coordinating information, preparing reports or tracking agreed actions.

Any additional work is scoped separately to your requirements. You can continue to use our minute-taking service without engaging us for wider support.
